Sheriff: Man shot at while fleeing robber in Raceland

A man was shot at while fleeing a robber in Raceland, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office reports.

Deputies say around 8:20 p.m. Monday, they responded to a call of shots fired in the Buford Street area.

A man was driving an SUV when an unknown man entered the vehicle and reportedly robbed him at gunpoint, according to investigators.

During the incident, the LPSO says the driver exited the vehicle and began running away. As he ran, the other man fired several rounds toward the victim, deputies said.

None of the rounds struck the driver.

The robber is being described as a short, bald white man with many tattoos. He was also reportedly carrying a silver handgun with an extended magazine.
