St. Tammany Parish sheriff arrests two teens on terrorizing charges

Two teenagers have been arrested and are accused of making threats at an area school, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday, the sheriff’s office received information from the school board saying a 15-year-old girl from Lacombe made threats towards schools, according to the sheriff.

During the investigation, deputies found out that a 15-year-old girl from Slidell was also involved, according to the sheriff.

Both the teen from Lacombe was charged with terrorizing and obstruction. The Slidell teen was charged with terrorizing.

The sheriff said it was determined both juveniles are former students of the St. Tammany Parish School System.

Furthermore, detectives concluded this investigation yielded, other than the threats being made, none of the local area schools in question were in danger during this time period.

Both juveniles were booked into the Florida Parishes Detention Center.

“The safety of our children is of the utmost importance. We will work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the children of St. Tammany Parish,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “We will continue to work with our schools and investigate any and all threats. I urge parents to please talk with your children about the seriousness of actions such as these.”
